Permission to Photograph - Watch for the Form

Parents,

Watch for the permission form during the first few days of school that asks for your signature. Your child's teacher will be sending it home. In order for the school to be able to use photographs of student and school activities containing your child, we request your permission to do so. The form provides space for you to specify particular circumstances where you will or will not grant permission.

For example, some parents may grant permission to have photos posted in a bulletin display in the school, but not on the school web site.

For your information, on the school web site, a reasonable degree of personal privacy is maintained by using group pictures and by not naming the students photographed. However, we will still only publish photographs of students who have returned the completed permission form.

Thanks,

Mr. Brown, web site committee

Welcome!

Hi everyone....students and parents.

I'm looking forward to serving the school community through our school library and information centre. In the coming weeks I'll be meeting students of all grades and classes as they visit the library on a regularly scheduled basis. Watch this web site for the latest information about the library.

Mission Statement

Since the school's opening in 1952, the School Library and Information Centre has served the students, staff and families of Viscount Montgomery School in many ways. It provides relevant, up-to-date reading and research materials for students of all ages, internet access with instructional support for using web-based information and educational programs and graded reading materials and picture books for beginning and developing readers. The library also stores and coordinates the maintenance of the school's audio-visual equipment. Student and adult volunteers assist with the tidying up and reshelving of books and other helpful tasks.

Our Mission Statement, in draft form, reads as follows:

"The Mission of the School Library and Information Centre is to reflect, promote and assist the educational activities of our school community. We will do this by providing the best resources possible, managing them with excellence and scheduling time equitably. We embrace flexibility, teamwork and volunteer spirit in all we do."
